Wolves star feels ‘incredible’ amid Liverpool, Man Utd transfer links

Raul Jimenez admits rumours linking him to some of the world’s biggest clubs are inspiring him to perform even better for Wolves.

Jimenez has been the subject of several reports suggesting that he is sought after by United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Juventus have also been credited with interest in the Mexico international, who has 22 goals and 10 assists this season.

He’s also been mentioned as a target for Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Wolves, however, do not appear in any hurry to cash in on the former Porto and Atletico Madrid man.

Jimenez, however, has other ideas and seems very motivated by the growing rumours over his future.

“It’s something very cool,” the 29-year-old told Bolavip.

“I don’t know if they are true, they are rumours. Since they are talking about me, different teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool… They are teams that in the history of football are important.”

Jimenez added: “It’s an incredible thing to be on the radar, and on the lips of those teams.

“It’s something good to continue growing, making an effort and taking it as an incentive so that, if possible, give even more to achieve it.”

It’s not the first time a member of the Jimenez clan has spoken out about Raul’s future.

Speaking to Medio Tiempo, the striker’s father also recently opened up on the speculation too.

“Raul has always said it’s something very cool (to hear of the interest),” his father said. He’s very happy at his club, hopefully getting into positions for Champions League and Europa League at the moment.

“Always for him, all of that will be very gratifying, very cool to hear those comments. Right now is the time of rumours, God willing the league hopefully resumes next month and that’s where we are right now.

“The rest, there is nothing. He’s only commented on what he sees that they publish, but nothing at the moment.

“Later, if there is something different, we will see. But now, yes, they are mere speculation and rumours.”

Jimenez is not the only Wolves player on Liverpool’s radar. Thursday’s Paper Talk has suggested they are also looking at Ruben Neves and Adama Traore.

Murray back Jimenez stay

Former keeper turned pundit Matt Murray, however, is adamant Wolves can retain their top stars.

“I believe these players are good enough for the Champions League, so if they don’t get there, that would be a concern,” Murray told Sky Sports.

“But also with the coronavirus, I think Wolves can keep them for another year because clubs won’t be able to pay those fees.

“But sooner or later, Wolves will have to get into the Champions League to match those players’ ambitions.”
