Valencia vs Levante Another derby on Friday
LaLiga Santander is back with another local derby, this time the one between Valencia and Levante on Friday night at Mestalla behind closed doors.
The team who show greater mental strength and courage on the pitch will automatically turn themselves into favourites to grab the victory.
Whichever side manages to combine the aforementioned factors and break the deadlock first will have a huge advantage.
After three months without action, Valencia have been already knocked out of both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
Following their European elimination at the hands of Atalanta, Los Che’s project has been heavily criticised, although Albert Celades has managed to help key players such as Rodrigo Moreno, Goncalo Guedes, Maxi Gomez, Francis Coquelin and Geoffrey Kondogbia rediscover their form.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Paulista is expected to miss the derby due to a muscle injury caused in training on Monday.
Valencia currently sit sixth in the table, four points behind the Champions League spots, which are their ultimate target.
Although Levante have never won a league match (four draws and nine defeats in 13 games) at Mestalla, they are willing to cause problems to their neighbours on Friday.
The absence of home fans, the general insecurity regarding the players’ conditioning and their desire to come out victorious could give the visitors all three points.
