Real Madrid host Valencia at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Thursday night and, after Zinedine Zidane had been considering partnering with Isco in attack with Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema, the Spaniard’s injury has caused the coach to change tact.

Zidane has decided to go for a four-man midfield of purely central midfielders, while Hazard and Benzema will form a front two.

For Valencia, Albert Celades has opted to drop Mouctar Diakhaby, who was at fault for Levante’s stoppage-time penalty, and bring in Eliaquim Mangala.

Real Madrid’s starting line-up: Thibaut Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Ferland Mendy; Fede Valverde, Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric; Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard.

Valencia’s starting line-up: Jasper Cillessen; Daniel Wass, Hugo Guillamon, Eliaquim Mangala, Jose Gaya; Ferran Torres, Dani Parejo, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Carlos Soler; Rodrigo Moreno, Maxi Gomez.
