Carvajal trains as normal ahead of Valencia

After an injury scare against Eibar, Dani Carvajal will be fit to start against Valencia on Thursday night.

The right-back returned to full training on Wednesday after training on his own on Monday and Tuesday.

He was taken off at half-time of Real Madrid’s first game back against Eibar on Sunday after suffering a knock, but that problem has cleared up.

Ferland Mendy replaced him at the break during that game, but the Frenchman is expected to start in his natural left-back position on Thursday.

Also training as normal on Wednesday was Gareth Bale, after Zinedine Zidane revealed the Welshman was suffering from back problems.

Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Vazquez and Luka Jovic didn’t take part in training as they recover from injury.

Zidane held the training session at 21:30 CEST to acclimatise to the time and light ahead of their 22:00 kick-off against Valencia at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Thursday.
