Good news from the US Open 2020, after the many unknowns: the security protocols have come out and it seems there is no limitation for the teams that will follow the tennis players. A few hours after the confirmation of the US Open and the Western and Southern Open, moved to Flushing Meadows, the USTA security protocol came out to protect the players and their staff during the events.
The dates are slightly different from those that had transpired in the previous days: in fact, the Western & Southern Open will be played from Saturday 22nd to Friday 28th August, while the US Open will begin on August 31st to end on September 13th.
All players will be able to arrive in New York starting on August 15th and they will have access to the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows from August 16. Players will have to reach New York with their own means of transport, and they will be refunded for the flight price in case the tournament should be canceled at the last minute.
Each tennis player will be entitled to two rooms in the hotel, where up to two people can stay. There is no mention for the limit of a person who can accompany tennis players to the facility for training and matches.

There will also be the possibility, for those who wish, to rent a private house outside Manhattan.
The cost of accommodation, which would be entirely borne by the player, would be around $ 40,000 for the entire period of the two tournaments. Transportation from the hotel to Flushing Meadows will be made by 55-passenger buses at a capacity that will never exceed 50%.
Three meals a day will be provided to the players, with options for mid-day snacks and the possibility of pre-ordering food through a special app and having it delivered to the facility. All restaurants normally available to the public will be open exclusively to players and service personnel.
There will be additional locker rooms. They can use the showers, as long as you keep a minimum distance between one player and another. The seeded players may request one of the corporate suites of the Arthur Ashe Stadium for their exclusive use.
As players are eliminated, the suites will be redistributed to the other players in order of ranking. 7 Each team member must be tested for COVID-19 before arriving in the USA and in any case at the hotel. A minimum of 1-2 tests per day are expected.
If a player is found positive, he will be isolated and treated according to the protocols of the Center For Disease Control. Players must use the mask during your stay in Flushing Meadows with the exception of the periods of training, competition and exercise in the gym.
Despite the security measures and the absences, we expect to see a great show anyway: the US Open will be able to mark the real restart of the Game.
