Matchday 28 of LaLiga Santander came to an end last Sunday with a 12.63 percent rise in viewership in Spain compared to the season’s first round of fixtures.

LaLiga Santander may have returned behind closed doors but 4.58 million viewers tuned in to watch the first league games in three months.

According to AS, Real Madrid’s game against Eibar (851,607) and Barcelona’s visit at Real Mallorca (780,231) were the most watched game followed closely by El Gran Derbi between Sevilla and Real Betis (755,810).

The Seville derby increased its viewership compared to the season’s first meeting by 242,362 viewers and so did Espanyol vs Alaves (+130,424), Real Madrid vs Eibar (+108,854), Leganes vs Real Valladolid (+91,021), Real Sociedad vs Osasuna (+84,583) and Celta Vigo vs Villarreal (+43,027).

A drop in viewership was noticed at Mallorca vs Barcelona (-77,271, although it was the second most watched) Valencia vs Levante (-59,228), Granada vs Getafe (-33,807) and Athletic Club vs Atletico Madrid (-15,471).
