Donovan Mitchell is concerned that an injury in the restart of the NBA could affect his max contract extension with the Utah Jazz, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Mitchell was one of the players that joined the conference call on Friday, where Kyrie Irving and other players were against the resumption of the season.
“Mitchell, who is up for an extension this offseason, explained he’s concerned with returning to play and injuring himself and thus jeopardizing his opportunity for a max deal, sources said,” Haynes reports.
Yahoo Sources: Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving organizes inspiring, galvanizing conference call that led to players opening up on a season restart. Irving: “If it’s worth the risk [to play], then let’s go do it. If not, we’ve got options for both ways.” https://t.co/O87fYMCX8x
