The first piece of silverware in Italy since the COVID-19 outbreak is up for grabs on Wednesday night as Juventus take on Napoli in the Coppa Italia final.

With security measures at their strictest given the virus’ impact in the country, even the post-match medal ceremony must follow tight protocol.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the players will have to collect their medals themselves and hang it around their necks, as opposed to the customary tradition of high profile figures handing them out.

“There will be no representatives of institutions to commemorate the winners and present them with the trophy,” Gazzetta report.

However, when the captain of the winning side collects the trophy, his teammates will be able to get together to celebrate the victory together.
