Barcelona vs Leganes Happy with youngster’s contribution and goal
Even Ansu Fati’s Barcelona teammates are continually impressed by the 17-year-old’s ability to have a say on the big stage.
The forward scored their opener again in their 2-0 win over Leganes at the Camp Nou on Tuesday and Ivan Rakitic was left delighted by what he saw.
“I’m very happy for him,” the Croatian said afterwards.
“He’s doing a really impressive job and he has to have patience.”
Antoine Griezmann didn’t enjoy the same good fortune as his fellow forward though, seeing his own fine finish ruled out for an offside earlier in the move.
“He scored and it was cancelled,” Rakitic added.
“He’s a very important player for us and he’ll only get better with time.”
Next up for the LaLiga Santander leaders is a trip to take on Sevilla on Friday, which isn’t going to be a trip they take lightly.
“There’s very little time and we don’t have many days off, but we have to take advantage of it in the best way possible,” Rakitic explained.
“We’ll be ready and motivated.”
