Barcelona see Nelson Semedo as one of their best options to raise funds this summer, but his departure is becoming complicated with potential suitors dropping out of the race one by one.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, has tried to find solutions for his future but it hasn’t proven an easy task and Barcelona could end up having to keep him.
Barcelona and Semedo have negotiated with three clubs over a potential transfer without success.
One of those was Juventus, with the Portuguese offered as part of a deal for Miralem Pjanic, seeing as the Old Lady need a right back.
However, the agreement broke down as Juve were unwilling to meet Semedo’s wage demands.
Another option that was considered was a swap deal with Manchester City.
Barcelona offered the Semedo and hoped to get Joao Cancelo in return, but City were not particularly interested in the 26-year-old.
The third and seemingly only remaining option is to do business with Inter.
The Serie A side appear to have an agreement regarding Semedo’s annual salary and Antonio Conte needs a right-back.
However, there is no agreement between the clubs. Barcelona wanted to offer 70 million euros plus Semedo for Lautaro Martinez, but Inter want more.
Semedo’s valuation by the Catalans is 41 million euros, but Inter do not agree and Barcelona aren’t willing to budge, at least for now.
