Pitch invader reveals how he made it onto the Mallorca pitch

A pitch invader who interrupted Barcelona’s match with Real Mallorca on Saturday night has revealed how he managed to get inside the stadium.

The youngster could face legal action from LaLiga after running on to the Son Moix pitch looking to take a picture with Lionel Messi, despite the game being behind closed doors.

“I arrived at the stadium in the 40th minute because I was with some friends and I wanted a photo with Messi,” the pitch invader, who has preferred to remain anonymous, told Cadena COPE.

“I jumped over a two-metre fence.

“I was in the Sol stand, I went up the stairs and went out on to the pitch.

“I went looking for Messi.

“I saw Jordi Alba first, I asked him for a photo.

“I went running towards Messi and, because of the virus, he didn’t want to take a photo.

“I was shouting ‘Messi, photo, please, Messi, please’.

“A LaLiga officer took me and then the police, who were in the tunnel, came.

“Afterwards, they took me somewhere and I gave them my name, my parents’ name and a load of details, and I’ll get a fine.”
